Rosie Quick grew up skiing with her family in Vermont. Her work examines the relationship between mediums with respect to their history and ability to encourage reflection and meditation within a technological age. While Quick holds an interdisciplinary practice, her most recent works consider the accessibility of photography today and Jean François Chevrier’s notions of the tableaux. Her work is fueled by the constant worry that technology is diminishing the ability for consistent moments of reflection and meditation. Quick holds a BA from Boston College, a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from Pratt Institute. She has shown work at Deborah Berke Partners, New York; the Amos Eno Gallery, Brooklyn; and the Sculpture Center, Long Island City.
