Community Events

The Community Events Committee sponsors activities, projects, and presentations to bring our community together.

The Wonders of Winter

The Salisbury Association celebrated Salisbury Winter Sports Association and the town’s unique 94-year ski jumping tradition. The Wonders of Winter was a major exhibition of historic and contemporary winter sports art on view at six downtown Salisbury locations. Sales benefitted both organizations.

Holidays

The annual Fourth of July picnic at the Town Grove and Victorian Christmas concert are beloved traditions.

Lectures

Lectures on a variety of topics, including the popular Era of Elegance series, are held at the Scoville Memorial Library many Saturdays at 4 p.m. The Salisbury Forum was actually launched as part of this SA function.

Trees and Town Beautification

The community events committee maintains the Academy Park between the Academy Building and the Post Office, and contributes to town beautification efforts. For many years, it has planted and maintained trees, especially street trees, throughout the town.

Town Grove

SA’s Toulmin Fund provides funding for projects that maintain and improve the Town Grove, such as dock construction, tree work and other special projects.

Exhibits

The Community Events Committee arranges art exhibits at the Academy Building, featuring works by children and established artists.

Supporting Our Youth

The Community Events Committee sponsors jobs for young people through the town.
