The Wonders of Winter

Ingrid Jansen (John Satre's niece)

Ingrid Jansen (1935 - 1980) was the neice of John Satre, after whom Satre Ski Hill is named. A skier herself, Jansen was elected Ski Queen of the National Ski Jumping Meet in 1952.  When she was elected by the student body of the Regional High School, Jansen was viewed as "popular, blond and merry...and comes of one of the real 'royal families' of skiing." (The Lakeville Journal, January 31, 1952). In addition to her interest in skiing, Jansen was also interested in art and attended Pratt Institute for a time.
