The Wonders of Winter

Gerald Hardy

Falls Village, CT

A graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, Gerald Hardy has worked in watercolors, oils, and sculpture and has moved on to develop unique techniques in his etchings and paintings. Many of Hardy’s paintings depict small towns, lakes, rivers, and waterfronts of New England. “I often go up in a small plane or helicopter,” the artist [says]. "I like looking down on the earth. It gives me a spiritual feeling to see landscapes and mountains stretching in all directions." (favoritectplaces.com/gerald_hardy.htm) He has had numerous one-person exhibitions throughout the country and his work is in collections of the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC, the Ford Motor Company.
